Sachin Ahir Reviews Long-Pending Housing Matters

Several long-pending rehabilitation and redevelopment issues in Mumbai received renewed attention during a review meeting led by Maharashtra Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Sachin Ahir at Vidhan Bhavan. Housing Societies Seek Faster Solutions

Cases involving residents of Lower Parel, Shivshakti Park and Byculla were also reviewed. The request for alternative accommodation for 10 residents of Saraswati Building and a representation from residents of Shivshakti Park were discussed. A proposal to include Geetanjali Building in a cluster of five MHADA buildings was also considered as part of a coordinated redevelopment approach.

Ownership and Redevelopment Cases Under Review

Officials examined several other pending matters, including rehabilitation requests in SVP Nagar Society, permanent ownership rights for residents of Tagore Nagar Gharkul Society, and redevelopment concerns involving Abhyudaya Nagar, Rustom Tadiwala Chawl and Shahsadan Society.

MHADA Pushes for Resident-Focused Action

MHADA Vice President and CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal joined senior officials at the meeting, along with representatives from different housing societies. The review focused on understanding residents' concerns, improving coordination and taking timely action on cases that have remained unresolved.
